The last six months have gone by quickly and Samantha almost seems all grown up. She loves to play jokes and is quick to learn new words and new concepts. She has also coped really well with a major upheaval in her life - the addition of a baby sister!
|
Big Sister: Overall, Samantha is a good big sister to baby Nicole. She showers her with attention and gives her plenty of kisses. She loves to help out with Nicole whenever the opportunity arises as well as having some quality time with Mum and Dad. She frequently goes up to Nicole, gives her a hug and says "I miss you Nicole, I love you Nicole" even though they are together all the time. And, thankfully, having Nicole around has not disrupted Samantha's good sleeping habits.

Language Development: Samantha is picking up new words all the time and even using them in the right context. She is also experimenting with making up new words. She loves her nursery rhymes. She enjoys singing songs and even sings about things that she is doing at the time. We've noticed that Samantha will use a particular phrase a lot for a period of time before substituting it for another eg "Just one more book" and she'll have her pointer finger against her lips to emphasis the point, "Mummy, your so beautiful, can I play with the Leap Pad", "That's dangerous, you can't touch that!", and most recently "I can't do that Sweetie Pie, I busy playing with ..." when asked to do something. Samantha is already developing her own sense of humour. Listening to the radio in the car one day, Samantha was sitting in the back seat of the car boping away to the music. Dad explained that she was listening to "James Brown", Samantha responded with "James Red". We told her a number of times that it was "James Brown", and she continued to say "James Red", we then realized that she was having fun with us.

More Comments: Mummy gave Samantha her first hair cut at the age of 30 months. Samantha loves to play with her hair, and she would often twirl her hair to the point that she would put knots in it. Luckily for Samantha, her hair is curly and you can't tell whether Mum cut her hair straight or not!
