It's hard to believe that a year has gone by - our little baby is now a little girl (I guess officially a toddler). It has been both a joy and a learning experience to see her developing into a fun-loving kid. We would like to share some of our memories with you.

Samantha loves to play games. The more memorable ones include:

Laughing Game: One day Mum noticed that Samantha had recently started going "ha ha ha". Mum decided to imitate Samantha's new sound and before we knew it, Samantha was having heaps of fun with Mum pretending to laugh and Samantha copying.
Chasing Game: Once Samantha started walking she loved to be chased. The anticipation of knowing that she was going to to be picked up and tickled would have her in fits of laughter. Even chasing her when she was crawling around the apartment was heaps of fun!
Hide & Seek: Samantha loves to hide her face in the back of the sofa. "Where's Samantha gone?" We would sneak up on her and tickle her. "There she is!"

More about Samantha...

Animals: Samantha loves animals; cats, dogs etc but her favourite animal is a flying bird. With her keen eyesight she's quick to spot any bird in the sky.
Words: Although Samantha hasn't said much other than "Mamama" and "Dadada". She understands a lot of words. For example, she recognizes the moon and stars in the sky. The names of her stuffed animals "Defa" the dog, "Brown Bear" teddy bear. Of course, there's "bath time" and "nappy time".
Food: I must say that Samantha's appetite is unlimited. She loves banana's, grapes, string cheese, toast, sandwiches, lasagne, pasta, salmon, chicken, lamb and vegetables. Dad has also introduced her to other cuisines such as softdrinks (she likes Dr Pepper - Yuk!!!) and fries!!!
Teeth: A few more teeth have come through with minimum fuss and now she has a total of six teeth.

Proud Parents ...

First Steps: Dad and Mum were lucky enough to both share the exciting experience of Samantha taking her first steps. Just before Christmas, Samantha took the first 3 steps by herself and within a week was walking all around the apartment. With her new found mobility she loved to carry books from the coffee table to either Mum or Dad so that they could read them to her. She would walk around with her arms held high in the air for balance - very cute!
Standing Up: It took almost 3 weeks from her steps until Samantha figured out how to get up from the floor without any help from either the furniture or Dad & Mum.
Stairs: Even before she took her first steps, Samantha was keen to walk up the stairs (not crawl!!) with Mum holding onto one hand. After all, crawling up the stairs was pretty easy.

Special Events ...

Christmas: For Christmas, she recieved a stride-to-ride walker from Dad and Mum as well as numerous clothes and books.
First Birthday: We celebrated Samantha's first birthday by having a picnic in the park. Samantha received an activity set, ball tower as well as more clothes, shoes and books.

The really cute things she does at the moment are: tilting her head to one side and giving "baby" kisses. Everything gets a kiss, from her stuffed toy animals to books and best of all are the kisses that the Dad and Mum get. Although, her hugs are pretty good to.
